We all love new stuff, don’t we? It’s a thrill to find something new , to try it and see how it looks. It definitely gives you a lift, remember when you bought that lovely little lipstick that you didn’t need! I have a drawer full of those, all the same kind of shade, the same goes for nail varnishes! So these a some of my new finds! New stuff!
This blog does contains some recent posts that I know are so easily missed and have been asked for, with added content, as I can write so much more here and have a freer reign! It’s so easy to miss posts as they whizz by so quickly, as who has the time or inclination to be looking or scrolling all the time! And lots of people don’t subscribe, so a blog is a chance to catch up on all the stories, and to read what interests you. So please add a comment if you want any more information, help, or just to chat! And of course if you want me to address anything in particular.
You can spend any amount of money on cosmetics and skincare, but for me the thrill is when I can find really super products, at the same quality for a fraction of the price. It’s not about the money but the thrill of finding that super equivalent! That’s why I call it Shoestringbeauty, beauty on a shoestring, luxe for less! Come hunt with me!
I didn’t really expect such a good quality foundation from Primark, mean of me I know, but you do expect good texture and superb colour from something expensive. It’s just reality and expectation. But all these companies have upped there game. You no longer have to spend to get quality, good texture and good colours! So, I was really pleased to this find this really great foundation, first time I’ve tried it. Primark Illuminating Foundation £4 in no 6. Really good formula, it makes the skin looks very natural and luminous! I’m very impressed with the end feel and look, so natural! You can apply it any way you choose, your fingers, sponge or this time I tried the Primark flat end foundation brush it’s super soft and gets the foundation in all those nooks and crannies without looking like you’ve got anything on! Perfect for all year round! So pretty! Have you tried the Primark makeup brushes? They really are quite good!
OI love a face oil! Do you use one? I’ve used one for years now (34!) and there’s nothing quite like it. The thing is if you only use a moisturiser (assuming you’ve already cleansed and toned!), first of all, all it really does it smooth and feed the top layers of the skin (what about all the other cells and layers underneath?) and secondly as you get older you’ll need thicker and thicker cream to make even a dent on the increasing lack of hydration. So what should you do? Apart from doing what you feel like doing, because not everyone wants to do all this stuff for your skin! But if you do, tailor it to you! Use a serum (they go on the skin and sit in the middle layer giving your cells a good feed, so when the cells come to the surface they are nice a plump and the moisturiser makes a difference because the cells are half way there! Think of little grapes not prunes! Then apply your oil of choice, the oil will go on the skin, through the skin, cleaning and detoxifying as it goes taking all the rubbish with it. The rubbish drains to the lymph glands, the body’s little dustbins. So after that it leaves your cells squeaky clean and therefore totally light reflective. This is what gives you the ‘twinkle’ in your skin, and that’s why some people’s skin just look fantastic and glowing!
So this new find, the Revolution Miracle Oil (2.99) was so deep feeding, detoxifying and gave a super glow, fabulous! My great favourite is the Nuxe Dry oil, but I thought I would try this one. I've started by using this only at night, I thought it might be too heavy for the day, but I was really surprised that it was good in the morning too! super to massage on the skin, lovely smell, I'm loving it! Yet another great product from Revolution!
Treat of the month! Sometimes a girl has just got to have a treat! Don't you think?
Now this is a reason to get up in the morning!
The Beauty Pie Brazilian Lime, Fig Leaves & Tea Luxury Body Wash (£14 members price) was fabulous! Oh what a fragrance, it will tempt you into the shower for an uplifting, fragrance-infused suds-up. With invigorating Kombucha ferment, smoothing Lime-sourced AHAs, Aloe Vera and skin-hydrating Glycerin, it’s a beautiful and somewhat addictive luxury body wash.
This was my treat for June, (it was my birthday month after all!) deliciously smelling, super soft and foaming luxury body wash, my skin truly felt divine! Total heaven! And now I’ve just read that they do an Eau de Parfum! Oh dear!
New box, new colours! How exciting, I love a good box of colours! Well, this box, which I bought from TikTok, yes I know! Contains 8 eyeshadow sticks, these eyeshadows were something else! There are 4 metallic ones and 4 cream ones, all a very good mix of colours, really something for everyone. I diligently worked my way through each one, even if I wouldn’t normally have worn a colour (for me that was a dark brown) but in the quest of experimentation, I was determined to give them all a go. I have to say they were all lovely, silky, soft and so easy to wear and apply! A real winner of a box !

A great tip that I’ve learned along the way, is to apply your lip pencil all over your lips before applying your lipstick, it really gives a longer lasting result! One of my favourite lip pencil right now is from Essence called Rosy Nude for £3.99 it’s a great colour, one of the neutral pinks, not unlike the infamous Pillow Talk!
Oh no! I can hear you day! She’s oil obsessed! No not really! But I was in Aldi, buying the fruit and veg, like you do, and took a wonder down the centre isle (best part of the supermarket!) and low and behold I saw this oil, this looks very much like my favourite Nuxe oil, I thought. So obviously I bought it (£2.99!) it’s brilliant, so like the Nuxe, dry, not sticky and smells gorgeous. Now it might not have all of the desperately expensive aromatherapy oils in it. But I would still go and grab it while you can! Aldi’s totally fabulous Miracle Oil £2.99 centre isle! Identical to my favourite Nuxe oil! Go, go, go!
