New Springtime Finds!

What goodies have I found, that I’m using that help brighten myself up? Both mentally and physically?
I know the primroses are out, it’s a bit sunnier, though down here in the South West of the UK it’s really cold too, but it’s really time to perk yourself up, isn’t it?
I like to have a more softer, muted approach in the Spring otherwise its all a bit too harsh, something that goes with a pale skin, pale hair, pale light, you get the picture!

My first product is by Revolution, those of the super skincare. This one is a ‘serum foundation’ that are super fine and light with medium coverage. It’s really very silky to apply, you need very little and it goes a long way. It’s also quite easy to build up if you need a little more coverage. I used C3 which was an exact match for my fair skin. Give the bottle a good shake before you pump, and you might want to start off with only half a pump. Because it’s quite runny, put it on the back of your hand so you can easily apply it with your fingers or a brush.
Ok so here’s the truth, I didn’t shake it first, used a full pump on the back of my hand, had far too much foundation that went everywhere ! 🤣 oh but the finish is fantastic !
This one by Revolution is apparently a dupe for the Giorgio Armani Luminous Skin Foundation.  It feels very minimalistic and quite luxurious, ideal if you want a barely there foundation and you want to feel a little bit fabulous!  Skin Silk Luminous Serum Foundation Superdrug £10.99 they have also just brought out a matching concealer too!

I seem to be ever after the perfect cleanser! So far the nicest has been the Beauty Pie Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser £10 (members price). It’s a very soft gel-cream lt that liquifies to an oil with a little water. Smells gorgeous too.
While I was in Superdrug looking at the Revolution skin care, they also have this other range SKIN. So this very interesting cleanser is a Hydrating Milk Cleanser that is super thin, very easy to massage over the face, then by adding a little water it turns oily. The milky texture does remind me of the milk cleansers of my youth, that don’t seem to have been around for years. So effective, and easy to use. Anyway, I absolutely adore this cleanser, my skin feels so clean and very soft, plump and hydrated! £8 the only gripe is that it’s unscented, I do like a little fragrance! Approx £8

Lots of new blushers are coming out now ready for us to re-emerge into the spring sunshine. We can only hope! These two gorgeous little pots are from Primark and they feel very like an upmarket baked blusher equivalent. Easy to hold in the palm of your hand and to sweep  over the top of your cheek bones, nose and forehead for a little extra bit of glow. One is peachy (the one I’ve got) the other is a soft pink. They are very like the famous Milano blushers. So soft, so gorgeous. Only £3.50 Sweet Radiant Blusher in Peach

I have a great felt tip lip liner by Kiko, (had it for years and it really is the best I’ve come across, until now!
This is great, Lip Ink Pen by Rimmel in 150 Tres Chic! No less! What can I say, the application is easy and smooth, the colour is perfect for me (there are 9 colours in total to choose from), you can use it’s a lip liner or a stain and go over the entire lip. Fantastic. Recently I’ve been using it with just a bit of my new W7 Juicy Jelly Lip & Cheek Stain (which is another brilliant little find!) if you just want that outdoorsy sort of glow these jelly stains do the trick. It gives a clear radiance rather than a powdered look. I firsts saw them on the Violette post, she seems to be hot on giving a clear, true blush. I found the W7  jelly blusher in The Range, there are two different colours,

I really love to add a bit of colour in the springtime after winter has gone . I have two new bronzers which a complete opposites of each other. This one from Sunkissed (Savers) Liquid Bronzer Bronzed Glow in Soft Bronze is quite deep in colour, to say the least! 🤣 if you are thinking of applying it straight to your cheeks try one dot first! Of course I went straight in there with several dots and I looked like I had just back from the Caribbean! One dot starts you off gently and then it’s easy to blend with a soft blusher brush. You can try with you fingers or a moist sponge but I think the end result won’t be so smooth! I was able to blend it smoothly to give a soft tanned look.
But if you want something altogether softer, lighter and therefore easier to blend, try the Bronzing Drops from Poundland. They are very light, so you can just sweep them just wherever you want!

And on to mascara! I’ve been loving the L’Oréal Telescopic Mascara with its thin, easy to use brush and the Revolution Big Curl lash that really gives me much longer lashes than I quite frankly possess! But this inexpensive, black mascara from Primark - Wonder Lash is really good. It gets the mascara onto the lashes making them look thicker, it’s really dark, and nicely still separates the lashes. So it’s a great alternative to more expensive version and frankly a bloody good find!

I’m always on the look out for good, easy to use eye brow products that don’t look obvious on me! Not an easy thing! And I do wear quite a bit of Build-a-Brow by L’Oréal which has a very fine felt tip to draw the hair on your eyebrows that makes them look fuller. But still I’ve got to have a very light hand and be extremely careful that I don’t over do it and look horrendous! This is why I’ve been using a much softer pencil in both colour and texture. It’s by Lancôme, Le Crayon Sourcils, I know you might say that it’s not Luxe for less! But hear me out, when a good pencil is the perfect colour, the perfect texture and it lasts so long, well then it equates to pennies!
This pencil is every one of those things! It’s really the most perfect natural look you can have!

So there we are, just a few favourite things that will perk up your springtime, I hope it works for you as it does for me! That and a nice large glass of wine!
